Antonia Cruz Siy is a Senior Counselor of the Center for Family Ministries, a family enrichment and healing ministry of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). She is completing a Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York City and a Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Psychology, from Wellesley College, Massachusetts. She also holds a Professional Diploma in Family Ministries from CEFAM-Loyola School of Theology of Ateneo de Manila University. She is a Certified Specialist in Counseling Psychology (CCOP) of the Psychological Association of the Philippines and a member of the International Family Therapy Association, the International Positive Psychology Association, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
Having worked as an adoption professional for a number of years and being herself an adoptive parent, she has also been active in counseling adoptive parents and adoptees. She has provided training and consulting services for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the areas of policy-formulation, program planning, and skills enhancement in the area of child placement services. Currently, she is a member of the alternate team of the National Child Welfare Specialist Group which is tasked to conduct bi-weekly national matching conferences for domestic adoption. She is likewise a trustee of the Adoptive Families Foundation (AFF) and is a regular resource person for parent training and group process facilitation.
