Background

As a seminarian for the Diocese of Buffalo, Ron earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from St. John Vianney Seminary in East Aurora, NY. Shortly after that, he joined the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (Eudist Fathers) and continued his studies in theology at the University of Ottawa and St. Paul University in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada). Fr. Ron was ordained a priest on May 13, 1977 at St. Amelia Church in Tonawanda NY. His early years of ministry were with youth and young adult ministry, especially the formation of adult leaders. For more than 20 years he taught in the National Youth Ministry Certificate Program, sponsored by the Center for Ministry Development, teaching in more than 35 dioceses across the USA and Canada. He also served as Diocesan Director of Young Adult Ministry.
 
He was a graduate of the first batch of the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Youth Ministry (St. Mary’s, Baltimore). In 1990 he completed his Doctor of Ministry at Andover Newton Theological School (Newton Centre MA) having concentrated on the development of collaboration and empowerment in Catholic parish leadership. Fr. Ron was the founding director of the St. John Eudes Center, a national resource in the USA for ministry and leadership formation. He also served as a parish priest, prison minister, part time seminary instructor and teacher in the diocesan ministry formation program. In 2006, he was a member of the founding community of the Eudist Fathers in the Philippines. Since his arrival he has been involved in the initial formation of seminarians, ongoing formation of priests and lay leadership development. He is an adjunct staff member of the St. John Mary Vianney Galilee Center in Tagaytay. He is currently the Provincial Delegate to the Philippines and Local Superior for the Eudists.
