Loyola School of Theology is pleased to announce the availability of five (5) scholarship grants for religious sisters who are accepted to the First Cycle Ecclesiastical Degree Program, Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology, this coming Academic Year 2021-2022. The 100% scholarship grant includes a two-year Certificate in Pre-Theology Studies (PTS, Philosophy) and a four-year STB program.
The details of the grant are as follows:
A. Prospective recipients are Filipina and international religious sisters who will be committed by their respective major religious superiors in a written document for a six-year study program at LST until the completion of their studies. Only one slot will be allotted to each interested congregation. Due to the limited availability of funds, aside from Filipino applicants, only international applicants from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) may apply. They should have completed at least a year of English language study in the Philippines and should submit the results of their TOEFL Exam (Test of English as a Foreign Language; https://www.ets.org/toefl). A minimum score of 80 in the computer based test is required. They are also required to take the Entrance Examinations in the Philippines.
B. Students seeking admission to the PTS-STB scholarship program must have a college/university bachelor’s degree and must pass an Entrance Examination and an LST English Proficiency Test.
C. Those admitted to the PTS-STB program but whose scholarship applications have not been approved for the current academic year due to full scholarship quota may avail of the grant in the succeeding year as priority recipients.
D. Recipients should be enrolled every semester with a full load of 15-18 units (5-6 courses). They may opt to enroll as well in course work during the Intersession under the grant, pending the availability of courses.

E. If needed by LST, recipients may be required to render 18 hours of service at LST during the semester under the general supervision of the Assistant to the President.
F. In order to maintain the scholarship, recipients (a) should not receive a mark of B (Average), C (Passing, earns no credit) or F (Failure) and (b) should maintain at least an average semestral mark of B+ or Above Average.
G. How to Apply
- Please send by email a scanned copy of all the application requirements to the Vice President for Academic Affairs ( rabais@lst.edu), furnishing a copy to the President ( eeusebio@lst.edu).
- Each applicant’s documents should all be in one PDF file labelled: STB Degree – Congregation Acronym – Name of Applicant.

- Order the scanning of documents as indicated the Checklist of Requirements.
- Deadline for submission of application requirements is on July 1, 2021.
- Entrance and Scholarship Examinations will be arranged personally with the applicant.
H. The results of the application will be communicated by email to the applicant by LST’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Fr. Rogel Abais SJ.
