This course is the first part of the year-long introductory course in New Testament Greek. The second part will be tackled in the second semester. At the end of the course, the student should be able to a) write words, phrases and sentences in Greek, b) recognize, analyze and produce various grammatical forms of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and other matters covered in first semester, c) master some basic New Testament vocabulary, and d) read Greek with some facility, especially the simpler portions of the New Testament, using the Erasmian system of pronunciation or the supposed original Koine Greek pronunciation.
