This course provides an important grounding for pastoral leaders in the Christian faith tradition on morals, ethics and virtues. Through a study of Christian ethics, particularly virtue ethics, that is firmly based on a critical reflection of scriptures and tradition, the course helps students attain a distinctively Christian approach to identifying and committing to practices that are essential and effective for full human living. This approach is then applied to a reflection on leadership, drawing from select secular theories, and further enriched and specified by attending to reflections on the demands of living and leading in multicultural and intercultural contexts of ministry.
