Theology of the Eucharist

This course studies the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist from its historical, scriptural, theological and liturgical perspectives. Specifically, it examines the development of the Church’s understanding of this Sacrament and its relation to the Paschal Mystery through the centuries, culminating in the reformed Mass of Vatican II. Both traditional and contemporary themes are treated as the basis for a sound Eucharistic theology.
