TMP 321.18

Thomas Aquinas

This course introduces Thomas Aquinas’ thought and grapples with some of work, especially the Summa Theologiae, on the methods, norms and sources of theology, the relation between God and the world, and some crucial Christian theological topics. Karl Rahner once said that the great question in the decades following Vatican II was “Where did Aquinas go?” After some years of neglect, we can happily say that this most important of post-Patristic Catholic theologian is again the subject of intense theological interest, as the wealth and fruitfulness of his thought is rediscovered by a new generation of thinkers, both theologians and philosophers. This course introduces Thomas’ thought and grapples with some of his works, especially the Summa Theologiae, on the methods, norms, and sources of theology, the relation between God and the world, and some crucial Christian theological topics.
