Abstract:

Focusing on the theme of Marian consecration, this tesina explores the core issue in devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and its significance in the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer in Vietnam. It examines the theological and doctrinal foundations of Marian consecration, drawing from the Church’s traditional Marian teachings, particularly the profound insights of Pope Saint John Paul II. His teachings emphasize Mary’s unique role in the economy of salvation and her maternal mediation, which serve as the basis for deepening one’s relationship with Christ through consecration to her.

By presenting this theme in the specific context of Vietnam, particularly within the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer, this research highlights various factors that influence the initiation, development, and maintenance of Marian consecration. These factors include cultural traditions, social dynamics, and religious influences, with a special emphasis on Catholicism in Vietnam. The tesina also addresses the challenges in fostering Marian devotion within the local Church.

Furthermore, this study examines how Pope Saint John Paul II’s teachings can serve as a source of reinforcement and encouragement for Marian consecration, inspiring greater devotion among Vietnamese Catholics, members of the Association of the Consecration Family, and the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer. By analyzing the impact of these teachings, the research seeks to demonstrate their relevance in strengthening Marian spirituality and promoting a more profound commitment to Christ through Mary.

Ultimately, the objective of this tesina is to encourage the spread of authentic Marian devotion, particularly through consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary, both in Vietnam and within the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer. Through a deeper understanding of Marian consecration, this study aims to contribute to the ongoing spiritual formation of Vietnamese Catholics and inspire a renewed appreciation for the vital role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the life of the Church.
