Abstract:
The vision of the Federation of the Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) of the youth as evangelizers stem from the teachings of Vatican Council II. The youth, who constitute more than half of Asia’s population, are vital to the essence and mission of the Church. The aim of this thesis is to find the link and narrow the gap between the teaching of the Church and praxis by investigating the theological concepts of communio ecclesiology, evangelization and missional participation, and by applying the same to the pastoral role of the youth as evangelizers. Furthermore, this study hopes to help the Church of Goa to be present at the peripheries and bring the promise of abundant life to those in the margins through the “culture of encounter.”
