I am happy to inform the Province that the Congregation for Catholic Education, in its rescript of 18 February, approves and confirms the appointment of FR. ENRICO C. EUSEBIO, JR., S.J. (inset) as President of Loyola School of Theology. Fr. Eusebio succeeds Fr. Jose V. C. Quilongquilong, S.J., who has served as President since 2013. The appointment is for three years and becomes effective on 16 May 2019. His installation date as President will be announced later by LST.
I thank Fr. Eusebio for his generous availability to take on this important position of leadership in our educational apostolate. His Eminence Giuseppe Cardinal Versaldi, Prefect of the Congregation, extends to him “warmest regards and best wishes as he takes on his new responsibility.”
In the name of the Province, I also wish to thank Fr. Quilongquilong for serving LST the past six years. Cardinal Versaldi likewise expresses gratitude to him “for the excellent performance of duty that he demonstrated during his two terms in Office, citing above all the work he invested in revising the Faculty Statutes and in the successful celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary of Loyola School of Theology, in the year 2016.”
I recommend to the prayers of all Frs. Eusebio and Quilongquilong, and the vital ministry LST performs for the Society and the Church.
