I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Markus Locker as Editor-in-Chief of Landas (The Way), the Faculty Journal of LST and the Theology and Ministry Program of the School of Humanities. The appointment is for an initial term of one year effective 14 September 2021 until 14 September 2022.
Dr. Locker is a long-time faculty both of the Theology Department of the School of Humanities at the Ateneo de Manila University and Loyola School of Theology.
Born in Vienna, Austria, he completed an engineering degree and master’s studies in Theology and Philosophy. He obtained a PhD in Biblical Theology from LST, Ateneo de Manila University on the Book of Revelation read in the light of Wittgenstein’s Language-Game Model and Semiotic Analysis and a PhD in Philosophy from Monash University, Melbourne with a thesis on the epistemic power of paradoxes in inter- and trans-disciplinary communications.
He is a member of the Catholic Biblical Society of the Philippines and a fellow of the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics. He has written a book on the Parables of Jesus (2009) and a book on the Power of Paradox (2011) and edited a volume on Systems Theory and Theology (2011). He is currently working on a research project in Practical Biblical Theology and a book on the Role of the Imagination and Faith in Society.
