Subject:…New Editor-in-Chief of Loyola Papers,
LST and the Theology and Ministry Program’s Student and Alumni Journal
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Leo-Martin Angelo Ruiz Ocampo, PhD cand. as Editor-in-Chief of Loyola Papers for an initial term of one year effective 1 September 2021 until 30 August 2022. Prior to this appointment, he served as Associate Editor of the publication from August 1, 2019.
Mr. Ocampo obtained his AB degree, major in Philosophy (Pre-Divinity Track), from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2007 as a seminarian of San Jose College Seminary, and his MA in Theological Studies from LST, Ateneo de Manila University in 2015.
He is currently a PhD in Theology candidate at the University of Santo Tomas, where he also serves as the Executive Assistant of the Vice-Rector for Religious Affairs, a faculty member of the Institute of Religion, and a research associate at the Center for Religious Studies and Ethics.
A prolific researcher and writer, Mr. Ocampo has published articles in Landas (LST’s Faculty Journal), Philippiniana Sacra (UST), Religion and Social Communication (St. John’s University, Bangkok), among others. He has translated important church documents including Laudato Si’, which was the first Filipino translation of a papal encyclical published with Vatican authorization.
He is the Associate Secretary of the Catholic Teachers Guild of the Philippines and a member of the International Sociological Association, and Association of Philippine Private School Administrators and Mentors.
On behalf of Loyola School of Theology, I wish to thank Mr. Ocampo for accepting this very important responsibility of promoting a culture of creative research among our students and alumni through the publication of Loyola Papers.
