About the Visiting Professor

Fr. Thomas Sherman S.J., a Jesuit of United States West Province (UWE), is an Associate Lecturer of Philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Prior to his Roman mission, he taught Philosophy in Arrupe College, Harare, Zimbabwe from 2009-2017. He obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Toronto in 1999 and his S.T.L. major in Spirituality at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 2009. His philosophy dissertation is entitled “The Nature and Place of Perfect Friendship in Aristotle’s Practical Philosophy”. For his licentiate tesina, he wrote on “Participation in the Eucharist as a Conversation between God and Us as between Good Friends”.
Enlistment in the course will be held during the regular Second Semester registration period beginning on 10 January 2022. Students may enroll only as credit (with grade). No audit or sit-in students are allowed. Estimate tuition and fees for non-LST students enrolling only in this course is PhP 8,800.
