Spirituality Course in Vietnamese this Second Semester: Psycho-Spiritual Growth in Religious Formation

This course develops a critical theory of personal identity and its development which are informed by perspectives from psychology and Christian spirituality. It aids the students in developing an understanding of the dynamics of human growth and development in relation to religious vocation.

To provide opportunities for the international students of LST to theologize in the Asian context and in their own Asian languages, LST has instituted its “Theology in an Asian Language Series” by offering theology and psycho-spirituality courses in the Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, Korean, Mandarin and other languages.

For the Second Semester of Academic Year 2019-2020, LST will offer a course once again in Vietnamese with Sr. Teresa Vu Thi Anh LHC, STL, Fr. John Phuong Dinh Toai MI, STL and Fr. Joseph Tran Si Nghi SJ, STL.

Sr. Anh, a nun of the Lovers of the Holy Cross of Phat Diem, and Fr. Toai, a Camillian Priest, obtained their respective Licentiate in Psychology degrees from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Jesuit Fr. Nghi obtained his Licentiate degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Boston.

This three-unit course composed of 15 seminars will be taught in Vietnamese. Students may enroll as credit (with grade) or audit (no grade). No sit-in students are allowed.

Academic requirements – to be announced by the professors – will be prescribed for students enrolled in the course as credit.

The fees are as follows:

1.  Full Course (15 seminars): for non-LST students enrolling only in this three-unit course, the fee is PhP 8,397.50 (credit); PhP 7,767.50 (audit). Current LST students may enroll in the course together with their usual course load.

2.  Per Seminar: those unable to enroll in the full three-unit course may instead attend seminars of their choice. They are requested to register before each class at the LST Cashier. The fee for each seminar is PhP 500.00.
