Abstract:
The thesis ventures into finding a more comprehensive view of what it means to be a human person through the one dimension of existence called relatio. Through theological reflection, the search for meaning can arrive at its desired answer. For while the scientific and philosophical fields of studies limit themselves to their respective methods, theology does not confine itself to the empirical and the rational. Theology reflects on the Person who is revealed in history, the One who incarnates himself as the Logos, the Logos who is thought of, who is love, and who is experienced. Through the theology of Joseph Ratzinger, this study on the relatio dimension of existence is deepened. The theologian who became pope can help us figure out that meaning as fulfilled in the person of the Logos. We will be able to find out that this Logos is the criterion of that relatio by becoming a Dialogos. The human person, in turn, is challenged to become that dialogos as well in his/her relatio with an other.
