Islam: Formative Period, The Qur’an, Neofundamentalism and Tolerance

This is a survey course on Islam that covers the formative period from the call of Muhammad to the formation of the early Muslim community in Medina. It investigates the roots of neo-fundamentalism and a Muslim’s response and call for Islamic tolerance.
