LST Faculty Training-Workshop for Online Teaching

The world is changing rapidly before our eyes and we are challenged to keep up with the changes occurring. The situation brought about by the Covid-19 Pandemic has necessitated the shift at this time of educational delivery from a face-to-face format to an online format. LST is committed to continue its mission of educating future ordained ministers and lay leaders of the Church and is preparing to respond to the needs of an online educational environment. LST has therefore organized its “LST Faculty Training-Workshop for Online Teaching”, scheduled from June to August 2020. The following are the mechanics:

A.  All LST Faculty will form Training Groups according to our LST Academic Clusters

B.  Pre-Training Individual Preparations

From June 15, 2020 to July 10, 2020, each faculty member will be sent instructional materials for personal study in preparation for the formal workshops.
C.  Each Professor/Training Group will attend Zoom Sessions during the months of July and August according to the schedule below:
   1.  Part 1A Introduction Leveling Off and Part 1B The Pluses of Online Education and Adaptive Design for Learning (ADL) Principles
  • July 13, 9am-12nn   Training Group 1: Systematics A/Pastoral A Cluster
  • July 14, 9am-12nn   Training Group 2: Sytematics A/Pastoral B Cluster
  • July 15, 9am-12nn   Training Group 3: Family Ministry and Counseling Cluster
  • July 16, 9am-12nn   Training Group 4: Biblical Cluster
  • July 16-August 14    Each professor will work on their course designs.
   2.  Part 2 Using Adaptive Design for Learning (ADL) Principles in Course Design
  • July 20  Group Meetings on Zoom with Trainor for group collaboration and comments on each Professor’s progress in designing his/her course modules.
  • July 27  Group Meetings on Zoom with Trainor for group collaboration and comments on each Professor’s progress in designing his/her course modules.

   3.  Part 3A Uploading a Course Module on CANVAS
  • August 1-7 Trainors will schedule Zoom sessions individually with professors to train them in converting modules they have designed into CANVAS.
   4.  Part 3B Presentation of One Module Per Group Via Zoom
  • August 14 Each group showcases one course module to the Faculty Assembly as part of the Closing Program.
D.    Submission of Revised Course Syllabi
  • All faculty members are to submit their revised syllabi to their Cluster Heads by 17 August 2020.
  • Cluster Heads will forward the checked syllabi to the VPAA on 20 August 2020.
